EDISU scholarship for international students: how it works
EDISU Piemonte scholarships pay up to about €8,000 a year plus housing. Who qualifies, the 2026/27 thresholds and the dates still ahead.

EDISU Piemonte is the regional body for the right to study. Its borsa di studio (scholarship) is money paid in instalments, and it can come with a room in an EDISU residence (servizio abitativo) and cheaper canteen meals. It goes to students at Piedmont universities, including PoliTo and UniTo, who meet the economic requirements, plus merit requirements from the second year on.
The official call (bando) is always the final authority. This guide summarises EDISU’s own step-by-step guide for 2026/27.
The economic limits (2026/27)
Your family’s ISEE for university must be ≤ €26,306.25 and the ISPE (assets indicator) ≤ €57,187.53.
Students whose family income and assets are abroad need an ISEE parificato. It’s prepared by an authorised CAF from documents issued in your home country, so start collecting and translating them early. Article 6 of the bando explains the rules.
How much you can get
The amount depends on your ISEE and whether you’re in sede (you live in the city of your course), pendolare (commuter, within 60 minutes by public transport) or fuori sede (living away from home). Most international students are fuori sede: up to €8,096.78 a year for the lowest ISEE band, or less if you’re also given an EDISU room. STEM programmes have their own amounts.
To get the fuori sede amount without an EDISU room, you must declare a paid accommodation (a registered rental contract, for example) covering at least 10 months.
How to apply
Apply online through the EDISU Sportello online:
- With SPID or CIE if you have an Italian identity document or live in Italy.
- With a “Codice Temporaneo d’Accesso” if you’re an international student with no residence in Italy.
The 2026/27 application window has closed (22 July – 4 September 2026, 12:00). The next call usually opens in summer.
2026/27 dates still ahead (first-year students)
- 4 November 2026, 12:00: last day to declare your paid accommodation to count as fuori sede in the 9 November rankings
- 7 November 2026: add your IBAN to be paid if you win in the 9 November rankings
- 9 November 2026: first final scholarship rankings
- 19 November 2026, 12:00: accommodation declaration closes for the 16 December rankings
- 30 November 2026: enrolment deadline to be included in the 16 December rankings
- 14 December 2026: IBAN deadline for winners in the 16 December rankings
- 16 December 2026: final rankings for all first-year students
Keep track of these on our deadline calendar.
Tips
- Add your IBAN as soon as you apply. Without it, EDISU can’t pay you.
- EDISU checks every winner’s self-declarations. False statements mean paying the scholarship back, plus penalties.
